The main task of Cendres+Métaux Refining is to recover precious metals (such as gold, silver, platinum and palladium). Once materials containing precious metals have been received, the goods are processed in two phases. The first involves homogenization and determining the precious metal content, while the second entails the process of separating the individual metals from the rest of the material and retrieving them in pure form as fine metals. The precious metals are then available for reuse as raw materials.

Our operation needs to meet extremely high demands in line with customer requirements, whereby the quality can be measured and demonstrated at any time. Precious metals are subject to the Swiss Precious Metals Act, adherence to which is monitored by the Swiss Customs Administration. Testing is done by an independent department with sworn Swiss precious metal assayers assuming responsibility for the accounting analysis. This is performed twice and only approved if the result is the same in both cases.

When it comes to the chemical treatment of precious metals, we pay particular attention to preserving an intact environment. For this reason, we have implemented an environment management system in accordance with ISO 14001.
